Connie and Edgar Thompson are Meridian residents. They are the owners of this amazing miniature town themed for Christmas. The town has every building imaginable. A grocery store, post office, and a city hall are among the more than 100 miniature "large" sized buildings.
Connie and Edgar would like to share Christmas town with an organization that will share it with the public. Children will especially enjoy the town. If you look closely there are people who are dancing, milking cows and riding motor cycles. Many of the buildings light up and some have moving parts. There is also a train that travels through town.
I think this Christmas Village would be a lovely addition to the Christmas in Meridian festivities. I can see families coming back year-after-year to view the town, finding something new each time.

There are several issues to be addressed when thinking about partnering with The Thompsons:
1) Display Location: Where would we set it up? One idea is to use the City Hall lobby as a viewing area. Would the Mayor approve of using the lobby as a display area? Could we leave City Hall open at designated times during the holiday season? Would it be feasible to have volunteers staff the area after hours?
2) The Set-Up and Tear Down Process: Edger suggest is takes 40 hours to set-up Christmas Town. It comes with all the boxes each item came in. Could we find volunteers who were interested enough to artfully set up the town and carefully put it back away every year?
3) Purchase Price: The Thompsons have not decided if they will sell the set or if they are willing to donate it. The price to purchase the entire town is $2,000.00
